Oh Snap!

This weeks Oh Snap!  Highlights the photography of a terrific artist by the name of Jasmine Pérez Paladino.

Jasmine is 20 years old and was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  Her first encounter with photography was at the age of 10, when she went on a school trip to Plaza Congreso (BA). She had to write a report about the day including pictures  ”The teachers congratulated me and gave me the highest score, not for the report, but for my photos cause my grammer is awful.”

I think we can all agree that these photos are amazing!

Jasmine graduated high school in 2007 and Plan A was to study architecture. But eventually (3 years later) she realized that that wasn’t her thing and turned her hobby into a career (Plan B).  She now works as a photographer since 2008 doing a lot of free lance and started working for The Buenos Aires Pub Crawl 7 months ago.

Her short term goal is to “see the world, let the world see me.”  This is tattooed on her foot to encourage her every single day.

Jasmine loves the little things and lights. Macro and long exposure. “Photography is about capturing moments, be it a smile or a bee on a flower. The world is beautifuland I want to show it to you. I don’t care if you like the pics or not, I want to know your reaction. How does it make you feel? So please! Let me know what you think!”

The two photographers that are her favorite and inspire her are Nan Goldín, for her cruelty when shooting. And Pedro Luis Raota, he’s argentine and is amazingly creative. “Also, can’t forget my wonderful co-workers and friends… you know who you are!”

Jasmines personal goal is exhibiting at the Malba (Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires). Her work goal is to have her own photography studio and maybe teach later on.
